Free Book Friday: The Windup Girl

The Windup Girl

ETA: This book is now claimed. Subscribe to this blog or follow me on Twitter (@fearofemeralds) for next week’s Free Book Friday post alert.

Here we go, kids!

The first Free Book Friday giveaway is The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi. This is the trade hardcover edition from Night Shade Press (second printing) and it’s in excellent, near new condition with dust jacket included. Only read once, very carefully, by me.🙂

It weighs in at just under 700 grams — so for Australians, that will mean a 3kg pre-paid satchel is required if you need it mailed. Overseas readers can check shipping costs to your country with Australia Post.

A reminder of The FBF Rules:

1. If you want the book, please post a comment on my official blog. First in, best dressed. I know this blog is linked or crossposted to Facebook and Twitter and GoodReads and Livejournal, but for simplicity’s sake the giveaway will only apply to comments made directly on the www.kirstynmcdermott.com site.

2.  The book itself is free but unfortunately, Australia Post services are not. :-( So, if you’re in Australia, you’ll need to send me a self-addressed prepaid satchel so that I can then send your book to you. If you’re overseas, it will be a bit trickier but I’m sure we can work out a way for you to cover postage. Probably using PayPal. And, of course, if you actually know me and tend to run into me around Melbourne from time to time, I’ll be more than happy to hand your book over in person.

  1. Me me me! I have been meaning to get that book for ages!

    (Did I do it right?)

    • You did it perfectly right!

Are you needing it sent within Australia or overseas?

      • Well, I live in Melbourne, so would be happy to arrange to pick up from you, or meet somewhere…

Alternatively, Melbourne Postage! A little strapped for cash til next Tuesday though…

        • Ah yes, cheap Melbourne postage indeed.🙂

Can you click on the “Contact” tab at the top of this site and send me an email? Best to sort it out off the web, me thinks.

          • Sent!

And also, thank you so much!😀

  2. Pick me! Pick me!

    • Ah, just pipped at the post there, Peter. Sorry!

      • D’oh. I knew I shouldn’t have copy-pasted the second pick me🙂

        • Lol, sorry Peter!

  3. Dammit! I’m slow today😦
