Angry Robot open for submissions in March

Angry Robot

Fledging spec fic writers take note! During the month of March, Angry Robot are opening their doors to submissions from unagented authors for the first time ever. Angry Robot is fast garnering a reputation for publishing exciting and intelligent spec fic of all stripes and most interesting flavours, from authors all over the English speaking world, so it’s well worth checking them out.

You’ll need to send a synopsis along with the first five chapters of your finished manuscipt — they’re not interested in works in progress — so get your white gloves out and start polishing those words. They’re seeking full-length novels for adult readers, either standalone or part of a series, which fall squarely into the spec fic genre:

All our books are “genre” fiction in one way or another — specifically fantasy, science fiction, horror, and that new catch-all urban or modern fantasy. Those are quite wide-ranging in themselves; we’re looking for all types of sub-genre, so for example, hard SF, space opera, cyberpunk, military SF, alternate future history, future crime, time travel, and more. We have no problem if your book mashes together two or more of these genres, but they must have that genre foundation – no thrillers with the merest touch of SF, for example.
