News that has me feeling both excited and just a wee bit anxious: my novel, Madigan Mine, is now going to be released on 1st July, 2010 rather than the first week of August! Well, I say “now” but, apparently, the July date has been in effect for quite a while. Just never filtered through to me for some reason.
In any case, it’s only a month before I’ll have a book on the shelves! And quite a busy month this is going to be as well. I’m running away next week to get married in Brisbane and then stealing away to Cairns for a five day honeymoon. I’m still tossing up whether or not to take my laptop with me. At the moment, it’s looking like I’ll leave it behind and actually try to have a proper break before coming back to tackle Novel the Second afresh. That would probably be the sane thing to do.
A few people have asked about pre-orders for Madigan Mine. If you grab a copy from Justin Ackroyd at Slow Glass Books in Melbourne, I’ll be delighted to sign it and add a personal inscription before the book is shipped. (Just let Justin know to whom you would like it inscribed.) Infinitas in Sydney also has it listed on their website as available for pre-order and I’d imagine you’d be able to order it from most bookshops by now. The ISBN is 9780330425711.

Congrats on your first novel! I’m reading it now, my review copy arrived the other day and I’m already a fair way into it. Great cover, lucky you! It will call out, “Pick me up!” in the bookshops.
